ways to cure acne

Considering how long acne has been around… since forever – it should come across as no surprise that the disease has a cure. Several cures exist, in fact. You just have to find the one that works best with your skin type. Simple.

It’s possible to even find very simple cures for acne on the Internet, from several acne related websites out there. But of course, before going ahead with any solution which is recommended on the Internet, you should do your due diligence. Don’t use any solution because it works for someone else.

Some of the best types of acne cures that you can get these days are known as home remedies – they are certain types of remedies that are currently around you, in your home, that work very well in curing or treating acne.

Another way to cure acne is to stick to a particular type of treatment for a certain period before trying another. Lots of people are in a hurry and don’t stick to a particular treatment until they get results. They go from one to another, without waiting for results. This is not a good way to treat and even cure acne for good.

Just a little change in your diet and a little change in lifestyle can help you cure acne. Yes, as simple as it seems, it’s actually true. You see, if you make it a habit of eating foods that don’t have too much fat, drink lots more water, do more exercise, and take more baths, these can help you cure the condition.

cystic acne?

So in the last couple of years I have been having really bad cystic acne. I am 26 and I never even got acne before I was like 24. Does anyone else suffor from this? I get a really bad painfull red large zit thing on my chin and it wont go away for weeks, and you cant pop it, its too far under my skin. Right now I have 2. besides that I dont really get zits! Does anyone know any natural ways to try to keep this at bay…or any meds like (natural cure) ?

Detailed explanation and rationale:
Ice how-to:
Wrap an ice cube in a thin cloth towel or paper towel so the ice doesn’t directly touch your skin. Some recommend freezing a bunch of water-filled little paper Dixie cups in the freezer. The thin paper cups make it convenient to hold and apply ice to the lesions. That’s a great idea from Laura, the esthetician that Willow569 goes to.

Hold the ice to the lesion for one minute or so on, five minutes or so off. Repeat as often as necessary throughout the first 24 hours, but not to the point that your skin turns pale or feels uncomfortable. The ice will reduce the swelling and the pain and the redness. The ice may also limit the development of post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, PIH, or ‘red marks’.

Anti-Inflammatory how-to:
Ibuprofen and naproxen sodium are anti-inflammatories. Inflammation is redness, swelling, pain. One or the other medication will help reduce the inflammation of any type of infection and may also help with pain. Use only as directed on the package, pick one or the other, and don’t use for longer than directed. Of course, don’t use one if you’re allergic to it!

Topical antibiotic cream/ointment and band aid how-to:
(Neosporin, Polysporin, Bacitracin, etc. I use Polysporin more often.)
Apply a dab of antibiotic cream/ointment to a small band aid (this prevents contamination of the tube provided the bandaid is sterile and you’ve not touched the pad part with your fingers or anything else).

Put the band aid on the lesion. Leave on overnight. You don’t have to do this step, but it provides an extra measure of infection-control and just feels better, too.

The antibiotic cream/ointment may help prevent indented scarring.

I’m not sure whether it wil work for cysts that are already there for weeks. The above steps are for freshly form and painful acne cysts. If it doesn’t work, I suggest you head down to a dermatologist clinic to get cortisone shots which will help greatly.
